Varicose veins are bulgy veins that can lead to chronic venous insufficiency. Some of the symptoms of venous disease are leg discomfort, fatigue, heaviness, itching, aching, cramping and restless leg syndrome. The most common complaint of patients with vein disease is leg discomfort and fatigue after standing or sitting for a long period of time. These symptoms tend to be worse when the weather is hot and humid. Visible clinical signs of chronic venous disorders are dilation of the leg veins including spider veins, varicose veins, leg swelling and skin discoloration. Various treatment options including laser vein ablation, radiofrequency vein ablations, microphlebectomy, and foam sclerotherapy have replaced vein stripping. At ReJUVA Dermatology & Vein Center, all treatments are offered by our board certified physician with extensive training in treatment of vein disease.
